Kerr McInroy isn’t taking much notice of managerial speculation at parent club Celtic as he targets a strong end to the season at Dunfermline.

The midfielder has been a regular in Stevie Crawford’s Dunfermline squads this season, with the Pars set to contest the Premiership promotion play-offs after finishing in the Scottish Championship’s top four. McInroy will end his loan spell in May and head back to Celtic, where the likes of Eddie Howe have been linked with taking over as manager.

When asked about speculation over Howe and the managerial vacancy, McInroy said his full attention is on the Pars promotion push: “It would be massive for the club, it has been nine years since they were back up there. A chance to play in the play offs to take us back up there would be good and obviously massive for the fans.

“Everyone will be looking forward to it. My grandad is a Dunfermline fan and I know that everyone in Dunfermline wants the team to do well. We want to do it on the pitch for the people who sadly can’t be in the stadium.

“I have learned a lot about myself and football. You learn from playing games and from all the good and experienced players in the squad. I have played against a lot of good players as well which has obviously helped. It has been a good loan move for myself. I am looking forward to going back to Celtic.

“(The managerial speculation) hasn’t made a difference as I am fully focused on Dunfermline. I watch the Celtic games and stuff but I am fully focused here. I owe a lot to Dunfermline for bringing me here and giving me the chance to play.”
