A challenge on Michael O’Halloran by Celtic captain Scott Brown will go unpunished after the 1-1 draw between the Hoops and St Johnstone.

The pair played out a 1-1 draw at Parkhead on Saturday, Chris Kane putting the visitors ahead with 10 minutes to go. But a late Mohamed Elyounoussi header salvaged a point for Celtic.

It heaps pressure on Neil Lennon but for Callum Davidson it was another positive afternoon, making it 11 games without defeat, the Saints’ longest undefeated run as a Premiership club.

One negative though was O’Halloran’s injury, who was forced off after being clattered by midfielder Brown. It left him with stud marks after a challenge around the hip area according to Davidson.

The SFA have taken a look at this incident according to reports and are content with the fact that this collision wasn’t an intentional one.

Now O’Halloran is expected to miss St Johnstone’s next match this Saturday when they host Livingston at McDiarmid Park. Meanwhile, Brown is still available for the next Celtic match at home to Kilmarnock on Sunday.
