The starting XI’s have been confirmed as Celtic host Aberdeen in a Premiership clash at Celtic Park this evening.
Ash Taylor is brought into Aberdeen’s starting line-up in the change from their draw with St Mirren, he replaces Niall McGinn. Celtic bring in Stephen Welsh, Isamalia Soro and Albian Ajeti from the side which beat St Johnstone.
Aberdeen go into the game on a poor run of form. They have failed to score in their last five games, and have picked up only three points of the last 15 that have available to them. They were held to a goalless draw in their last game, against St Mirren.
Pressure on manager
The poor run has led to serious pressure being put on manager Derek McInnes. Now he comes up against another manager that has been under pressure this season, Neil Lennon.
Celtic do seem to be running into some good form at the moment though, they have won their last four league games, most recently a come from behind 2-1 win over St Johnstone.
The Dons will need to be wary of facing Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard, who has scored eight goals in the last six games.
Teams played out frenzied draw
The teams have technically only met once this season, in a frenzied 3-3 draw at Pittodrie back in October. However, the teams did play the delayed Scottish Cup semi-final in November, a game which Celtic won 2-0.
Here is how the teams line-up. A win for Aberdeen would give the Dons hope in the battle for third place in the Championship. They would move to only one point behind the Easter Road side despite having played a game more.
Celtic starting XI
