Rumours linking Billy Gilmour with a loan move away from Chelsea have intensified in recent days.
Last week, rumours circulated that Italian giants Napoli were interested in the midfielder, with a loan move in January mooted as a potential landing spot.

Now such whispers have picked up steam after Gilmour’s excellent Champions League debut against Krasnodar, in which the Scotland starlet earned Man of the Match. The game against the Russian side finished 1-1.
But it was Gilmour was was the talking point post-match, after his first start since July following a fight with injury brought about a star display.
Blues boss Frank Lampard has long touted Gilmour as the next big thing at Chelsea. But with so many senior options at his disposal, it has been heavily rumored that Gilmour could leave short-term.

It’s now been reported that former club Rangers have gone as far as making an approach to sensationally bring him back to the SPFL on a short-term loan deal. It is likely, however, that Chelsea won’t need to go looking for suitors if Gilmour is to be loaned out.
Reports claim that Chelsea would be open to the idea of Gilmour’s short-term Govan return. Lampard won’t be drawn into such speculation yet though: “I’m not sure about a loan.
“The way Billy trains and plays I can see him with us. So I have to make sure the pathway is right.”
