Chelsea and Scotland prospect Billy Gilmour is set to make his return from injury for the national team.
The talented midfielder enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Chelsea last season, Frank Lampard promoting him to the Stamford Bridge senior side.

Gilmour impressed in each of his 11 appearances for Chelsea last term. It lead to calls for his inevitable promotion from the Scotland U21s to Steve Clarke’s senior squad to be fast-tracked.
As the Premier League returned in July, Gilmour suffered an unfortunate knee injury. It required surgery and he hasn’t kicked a ball in anger since, although Lampard hinted recently a return was close.
It could come with the Scotland U21s as he is recalled into Scot Gemmill’s squad for the crucial UEFA Euro U21s qualifiers against Croatia and Greece next month.

This will be a big step in Gilmour’s recovery as he aims to make his way back into Chelsea contention. It’s big games for Gemmill’s side, who will look to go top of their qualification group.
