Celtic will be the likely title challengers at the top of the table after Rangers won last season’s Scottish Premiership. Hibs meanwhile will look to maintain their third place position while Dundee and Hearts return to the division after promotion from the Championship.

It means James McPake will manage in the Premiership for the first time at the Dens Park club while Robbie Neilson returns to the division. There will also be plenty of managers enjoying their first taste of Premiership football, including Ross County manager Malky Mackay and Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou.

cinch are the new title sponsors for the SPFL in a five-year deal that will run until the 2025/26 season. SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “This is an enormously significant partnership for our member clubs, and for Scottish football as a whole.

“Our discussions with cinch have been extremely positive and the duration of the sponsorship agreement demonstrates their long-term commitment to Scottish football. Despite the economic situation and the challenging nature of the global sponsorship industry generally, this is the largest-ever sponsorship in the SPFL era.”
