Scotland have been given a boost ahead of Thursday’s match against Serbia with news that Crystal Palace enforcer Luka Milivojević will miss the match.

Steve Clarke’s side face the Serbians in Belgrade this evening for a place at Euro 2020. But the hosts will be without their Crystal Palace midfielder, who has tested positive for Covid-19.

He will miss all of Serbia’s matches over the international break and will likely be a doubt for a return to Premier League action with Crystal Palace against Burnley on November 21.

Serbia have had their fair share of Covid trouble ahead of this match. They had to fight to get their players based in Italy over for the match, on top of the likes of Ajax star Dusan Tadic receiving false-positive Covid-19 tests.

This is a huge occasion for Scotland. Victory in this play-off final could secure a major tournament spot for the first time since 1998.

Those who stand in the way have suffered a big blow ahead of it, losing a man with 39 caps.
