Inverness have been hit with a blow after they confirmed Mitchell Curry has returned to Middlesbrough.

He has been used fairly regularly this term, with the Boro loanee featuring 15 times. His last appearance came as a 64th minute substitute against Arbroath at the end of December.

A statement from the Highland club reads: “Inverness Caledonian Thistle can confirm that Mitch Curry has returned to Middlesbrough.

“The Club would like to thank Mitch for his efforts during his time at the club and wish him the best for the future in his career.”

Utility attacker

Curry featured in all four of Inverness’ League Cup group stage matches. He had to wait until October though for his league debut due to fitness issues and it came against Alloa.

He started the next week and scored too, but it was perhaps overshadowed by the 2-1 defeat inflicted upon them by Morton. He has been used as a centre forward and a winger on both flanks whilst in Inverness.

John Robertson’s side are looking up the way in Scotland’s second tier. Following a 2-0 away win over Dundee, they are comfortable in the Premiership play-off spots, sitting ten points clear of fifth place Dunfermline.

Their 2019/20 journey will continue without Curry who has returned to Boro.
