Daniel Church is on trial at Dundee, with the Dens Park club seemingly looking at bringing in the former Celtic prospect.
The Dee are gearing up for another season in the Championship, one in which they will hope to push for the promotion play-offs or more.
They have strengthened in several areas, bringing former Liverpool and Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam back to Scottish football the standout recruit.
Church could be their next addition. He was a highly-thought of prospect at Celtic Park, leaving his boyhood club after 13 years earlier this month. It’s left him on the lookout for a new team and perhaps more senior opportunities.
He featured as a trialist as Dundee beat Cove Rangers 1-0 in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday. Paul McGowan scored a header five minutes from time to secure a win, following on from success over Peterhead and a draw with Montrose at the weekend.
James McPake’s side return to competitive action on October 6 when they face Forfar Athletic in the League Cup group stages.
