Aberdeen midfielder Dean Campbell has spoken about the red card he picked up against Ross County last month.
The teenager received his marching orders in the first half at Pittodrie for sticking out a leg to block a County free-kick. That earned him a second yellow, his first for an obstruction.
Aberdeen were 1-0 up in the match through Curtis Main, but Campbell’s sending off came on 32 minutes, which put the hosts under real pressure for the rest of the game.

It was the first dismissal of his fledgling career, and Campbell has explained how he felt in the aftermath.
He said ahead of the game with Motherwell at Fir Park (official website): “Getting the red card against Ross County was probably the lowest point of my career so far. I made a mistake in the game; I just wasn’t thinking at the time.
“I felt responsible for the defeat. It was a horrible feeling and it is something I never want to experience again. I will learn from it and hopefully it won’t happen again.
“The Saturday night was a tough night. I felt responsible for the defeat because I had left the team with 10 men. Barry Robson tried to cheer me up by telling me he had 13 red cards in his career!
Since that low point, Campbell has responded well for Aberdeen, featuring against St Mirren in the Scottish Cup.

He didn’t play against Hibs last weekend, and may have to be patient for a run of starts in the Premiership.
The red card against the Staggies is sure to help him in the long run, as the youngster will not want to experience what he felt again, which can only be a good thing.
It is a learning curve for Campbell who is bound to make smarter decisions when on yellow cards in future.
