The dreaded confirmation Motherwell fans hoped wouldn’t come has finally arrived. David Turnbull looks set for a move to Celtic, the club have confirmed.
The Well academy graduate has been given permission to speak to the Parkhead side. Should they agree on terms, the transfer fee will be the largest Motherwell have ever received.

Motherwell fans can’t expect his replacement to be as good
If it’s going to be a record fee then you’d like to think Motherwell will be able to bring in a decent replacement. The sad fact is that it’s just not that simple.
Turnbull will reach the top, especially at Celtic. He’s more than good enough to play in their first team right now. Should he play, he’ll win trophies and be far better off financially.
Stephen Robinson is now stuck with the impossible task of replacing him. There’s nobody the Fir Park club can bring in who’s good enough to replace him.
This day was always going to come but many Well fans will have hoped it wouldn’t be this soon.
