Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has accepted that the Dons have a squad issue heading into the first match after the international break.

The Pittodrie manager is concerned about the lack of players in the middle of the park for the game against in-form Motherwell.

He hopes that Craig Bryson can return from injury in time for the fixture.

“We clearly have issues in midfield for the Motherwell game, but I am hoping Bryson will be back” he said, as reported by the Evening Express.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

“A tough time”

“We are going through a tough time with injuries and that has to change.”

Dean Campbell is the only central midfielder Aberdeen currently have available. Lewis Ferguson is suspended and the rest of the players are injured.

The injuries have come at a really bad time for the Dons. They have not won a game in their last three in all competitions.

Next match a must win?

They now face a trip to Motherwell, who could go seven points clear of the Dons should they win at Fir Park. That would have been a tough game for the Dons even with a full compliment of midfielders. It will be even harder with the lack of numbers.

As McInnes says though, having Bryson back in the side would be a boost. He has not featured that often since joining the Dons in the summer.

However, on his day he can be an excellent player. He is the type of player that the Dons need in their team if they are to get a result against Motherwell.
