Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is confident that striker Lewis Ferguson will be fit for Aberdeen’s trip to Tynecastle on Saturday.
The player had to leave the recent Scotland under-21 training camp with a thigh injury. However, McInnes believes that the player should be available for the game against Hearts.
“Lewis had to pull out of the U21 squad due to a little thigh strain. We have asked a lot of Lewis this season, and he has responded” McInnes told the Evening Express.

McInnes then confirmed that “Lewis should be okay for the weekend thankfully”, asserting that he expects to have the player available.

Perhaps it would be better for Ferguson to start on the bench against Hearts. It could be too much of a risk to start Ferguson when he is just recovering from injury.
With the Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic a few weeks away Aberdeen will be wanting to have all of their key players fit for that game.

If that means resting Ferguson for the most part until the semi-final then so be it.
Ferguson has had an excellent season for the Dons. He has scored seven goals in 36 games and has established himself as a key player for the Pittodrie club.
He really made a name for himself with the winning goal against Rangers in the Betfred Cup semi-final, he will be hoping to do the same against Celtic in the Scottish Cup.
