Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has paid tribute to Dons defender Andy Considine who recently signed a contract with the club.
Considine, who is 33-years-old, agreed a deal until 2022 with the Pittodrie side. This caps a big year for the player, who has been a regular in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad.
Even though Considine is in the veteran stage of his career, McInnes doesn’t necessarily think that this will be the last contract that the player will sign at Aberdeen.
Key man for years
Considine has spent his entire career at Aberdeen. He has been a key man for the period that Derek McInnes has managed the club. If he manages to stay fit, there is no reason not to stay a regular in the Aberdeen side for the foreseeable future.

Now that the player’s contract has been sorted, his next goals will be to help Aberdeen challenge for second spot in the Premiership and keep his place in the Scotland squad with Euro 2020 on the horizon.
Indeed, he has confidence that the player could sign another deal when the present one is due to expire.
“Of great value”
“He thoroughly deserves his contract extension. I think it is his fourth extension since I have been manager, and he deserves every single one of them. He has been of great value for us” he said.

“He has been fit and available for me for a long period of time. Age is just a number. If he can keep going the way he is going then there is no reason why he cannot get another contract extension when the time comes” McInnes stated.
