Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has taken responsibility for the club’s current poor run of form. The Dons have failed to score a goal in their last five games, picking up only three points from a possible 15 in that time.
The poor run has seen Aberdeen lose third place in the Premiership to Hibernian, and McInnes is under pressure from fans to get the Dons back on track.
Looking to end poor run
Aberdeen have the chance to do that when they take on Celtic this evening. However, ahead of the game, McInnes revealed that he had to take the blame for the current situation the club finds itself in.

“We take full responsibility for the situation we’re in” he said.
“It’s our job now to get out of it, hopefully we can finish the season strong and at the end it’s a time for me to reflect whether it’s been a good campaign or not.”
The Dons boss admitted that it doesn’t matter if the club keeps a clean sheet or plays well against Celtic, the most important thing is to get a much-needed victory.
“Result over performance”
“You’d take a result over performance, a lot of the performances we’ve had, some of the draws, we’ve been pleased with the work we’ve done but nothing really to show for it.

“It’s not clean sheets tomorrow (Wednesday) or points at this stage of the season, it’s wins that get the job done” McInnes stated.
Celtic and Aberdeen have met twice this season already. The league meeting at Pittodrie ended in a 3-3 draw, whilst Celtic won 2-0 in the rescheduled Scottish Cup semi-final.
