It is fair to say that Dundee’s move to sign Jason Cummings from Shrewsbury in the January transfer window looks to be paying off.
He has scored three goals in four games for the Dens Park side. Indeed, he has scored in every game he has started for James McPake’s team.
Helped to secure vital win
His latest goal came in last night’s 2-1 win over Inverness. A win that was vital as it took Dundee back into the top four of the Championship, but also ended a run of four games without a win.

As it stands Dundee are fourth in the Championship table. However, should they win their two games in hand they could go up to second place. As long as Cummings is scoring goals, that is not out of the question.
Biggest test awaits this weekend
Arguably Cummings’ best test in a Dundee shirt will come this weekend, when the Dens Park club travel to Tynecastle to take on league leaders Hearts.

You have to imagine though, that Cummings will be up for that game, not least as he is a former Hibernian player. He will likely back himself to continue his hot streak, and it would not be a surprise to see him score for a fourth game running.
If Cummings can keep finding the back of the net between now and the end of the season, he could go down as one of the best signings of the January transfer window. His goal will be to continue finding the back of the net, and helping Dundee back to the Premiership. Don’t rule that out if Cummings keeps up this hot streak.
