Jack Hendry has left Celtic and his exit will earn former club Dundee a six-figure fee (Courier).

The centre-back moved to Celtic Park in 2018 as he joined Brendan Rodgers’ dominant side. A fee of £1.3 million plus add-ons was a record-breaking deal for Dundee and the Dens Park club also inserted a sell-on clause into the deal.

Hendry spent last season on loan in Belgium with KV Oostende and his form earned him a spot in Scotland’s Euro 2020 squad. The Belgian side had an option to make Hendry’s move from Celtic permanent and they have taken that up for a fee of around £1.75 million.

Dundee’s deal with Celtic ensured that they would recoup 25% of any future move Hendry made from the Parkhead club. Now that the Scotland centre-back has completed his move to Belgium, Dundee are set to pocket just over £100,000 from the transfer. Dundee kicked off their pre-season schedule with a win over Forfar Athletic on Saturday.
