Dunfermline Athletic have ended speculation surrounding Kai Kennedy, signing the Scotland youth international on loan, amid West Ham United interest.
The English Premier League club were said to have submitted three bids for the teenage winger. West Ham United were unsuccessful in their attempts to sign Kennedy, who now joins Dunfermline from Rangers for the 2021/22 cinch Championship season. Kennedy spent last season in the Championship at Inverness and Raith Rovers.
A statement reads: “Dunfermline Athletic welcome Kai Kennedy on a season long loan. 19-year-old Kennedy joins Dunfermline on a season long loan from Rangers. The Gers youngster signed a new Ibrox deal at the start of this year to keep him at the Scottish champions until 2023.
“He comes to Dunfermline with Rangers retaining an option to recall him in January 2022. Kennedy spent last season on loan in the Championship playing 10 matches with Inverness and then nineteen at Raith Rovers.
“Kennedy has represented Scotland at various youth levels up to U19s.”
