Dunfermline Athletic are closing in on the installation of a new permanent manager after the sacking of James McPake.
McPake was given the boot by Pars chiefs just a few days before Christmas after losing to Raith Rovers and Greenock Morton in consecutive games.
That left Dunfermline sitting second bottom in the Championship table and the decision-makers at East End Park felt a change was needed.
And according to the Daily Record, the Pars have now picked out their favoured candidate to replace McPake in the dugout.

Dunfermline are aiming to secure the services of Kelty Hearts boss Michael Tidser having approached the League One club.
The Pars have reportedly been given permission to speak with Tidser as they get set to agree on terms and compensation.
It’s been said Dunfermline chief executive David Cook will lead the negotiations in his efforts to land the 34-year-old Tidser.
Who is Kelty Hearts boss Michael Tidser?
Tidser has been in charge of Kelty Hearts since April 2023 and led the club to sixth in League One in his first full season as boss.
So far this campaign, Tidser has Kelty sitting third and are just five points behind league leaders Arbroath in the chase for automatic promotion.
