Everton are the newest name linked with Aaron Hickey as Crystal Palace continue to monitor the versatile defender (Daily Mail).
It is understood that Palace are best placed to sign the teenager, although no formal bids have been lodged yet. Manchester City, Southampton and Celtic are all continuing to monitor Hickey, having been linked in the past, but Everton are a new name brought to the interest table.
Hickey’s out of contract next summer although Hearts are currently coping with a financial crisis.
The Jambos have had to implement 50% wage cuts across the board as the lack of revenue from matchdays etc takes its hold during football’s shutdown.
Hickey though is believed to be less-affected than others at the club due to being on a smaller salary compared to his peers. Any funds coming into Gorgie right now would be a huge boost.
It remains to be seen whether Crystal Palace or Everton materialise their Hickey interest. The teenager made his debut last May against Celtic on the last day of league action before starting the Scottish Cup final the following week, aged just 16.
Interest in him following his rapid rise at Tynecastle is seemingly growing.
