Former Hibs striker Jason Cummings caught the eye recently as his Shrewsbury Town exploits helped stun Liverpool in FA Cup action.
The League One outfit looked set to be a run of the mill test for Jurgen Klopp’s side. A weakened team was fielded and the 2-0 scoreline as the final 25 minutes approached suggested that very narrative was about to come to the fore.

Not on Cummings’ watch it wasn’t. He started the Shrewsbury fightback, scoring from the penalty spot to give his side a glimmer of hope against the European champions.
15 minutes were left on the clock as the former Hibee struck again. He broke free of Dejan Lovren, slotting a calm shot into Adrian’s goal. It created a cup moment that will live long in the memory as his side pulled the game back to 2-2.
In front of the TV camera’s against the world’s top side right now, rotated team or not, it was a great moment for Cummings and Shrewsbury. Klopp even threw on Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino as they searched for a winner.

Cummings got his name in lights though as Shrewsbury held on. They’ll now travel to Anfield for a glamour replay. It’s a just reward for their efforts in the initial tie.
Hibs’ former striker has certainly got people talking with his excellent brace.
