Falkirk boss David McCracken is still pleased with the League One side’s start to the season even if the club’s unbeaten run is now over.

The Bairns were unbeaten after eight games before they took on Airdrieonians on Sunday. The surprise 1-0 defeat ended the unbeaten league start, but Falkirk still lead the table by three points, with a game in hand over second placed Montrose.

Satisfied with start to season

With that in mind, even though McCracken recognises that it was a shame that the run came to an end, he is more than satisfied with how the season has started for Falkirk.

“We spoke to the boys this morning, we need to remember where we are at. We have had a great start to the season. And yes, of course we are disappointed with the result at the weekend” he said.

McCracken feels that the defeat was down to Falkirk not taking the chances that came their way.

“We created opportunities”

“We looked over the game again. There was large spells of the game where we played well. We created opportunities, but we never took them. That’s ultimately what came back to bite us.”

McCracken is still more than satisfied with how Falkirk have performed so far this season.

“If we’d said this at the start of the season, we’d 100% would have took it. Now it’s time to put that behind us, that’s game done with. It’s time to focus on the next game.”

Falkirk’s next game is certainly a big one, when it comes to the top of League One. They take on third place Partick Thistle, and a win would move Falkirk nine points clear of the Jags.
