Falkirk have confirmed the signing of Declan McDaid on loan from Dundee until January and he could come into the Bairns side for his debut this afternoon when they host Dumbarton in League One.

The winger has had stints with Ayr, Partick Thistle, and Morton before joining Dundee and the 25-year-old played a key role for the Dens Park side last season as they sealed promotion to the Premiership.

After an up-and-down start to the season, Falkirk boss Paul Sheerin is looking to bolster his front line with the signing of McDaid as the Bairns gaffer looks forward to getting the chance to work with the winger, saying: “Declan is an exciting player with loads of pace who is never afraid take on his man and will always look to get forward.

“His signing boosts our attacking strength and gives us another option in an extremely important area of the pitch, and I look forward to working with him in the coming months.”

The Bairns currently sit fourth in League One, having lost their last two games, and McDaid’s arrival could help spark the title contenders into life as they look to escape the third tier at the third attempt.
