While the ex-Scotland star was in talks with the Dens Park side over a move, those ended without a deal being signed and now the Bairns and Queen’s Park are both reportedly keen to sign him.

According to the Scottish Sun, Falkirk lead the chase to sign Griffiths as they look for get out of League One at the third attempt, but with Martin Rennie’s side currently sitting sixth in the table, it won’t be easy.

Despite struggling for form, the Bairns boss thinks Griffiths could be the man to fire his side to a playoff spot.

Griffiths only managed thee goals in 17 appearances for Dundee while on loan at Dens Park, scoring twice against Aberdeen and netting from the penalty spot against Dumbarton in the Scottish Cup.

With Falkirk’s hopes of automatic promotion already gone, they can’t afford not to make the playoffs after losing out on promotion in the last two campaigns to Raith Rovers and Partick Thistle.
