Edinburgh’s famed Banana flats became host to the mass singing of a famous Hibs anthem last night.

The iconic Proclaimers tune Sunshine on Leith was sung in the capital as locals looked to raise spirits amidst the uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.

It was organised on Facebook as everyone in the surrounding area was invited to join in as the song regularly sang by Hibs fans at Easter Road was belted out.

Heard all around the surrounding area, a video has gone viral of locals getting in on the act.

Hibs themselves have recognised this poignant touch. They took to Twitter to highlight the video, bringing it to the eyes of Hibs fans far and wide who may have missed one of their iconic songs being sang in fine voice.

Hibees are currently wondering when they’ll next make their way to Easter Road. The SPFL is on an indefinite hiatus as the pandemic takes its toll worldwide.
