Fans of Scottish football have rallied round a tweet by the SPFL after the likes of Chelsea opted to form a breakaway Super League.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham – English football’s ‘big six’ – are part of the group with La Liga’s Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid and Serie A’s AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus.
Founding members can’t be relegated from the league that has been widely condemned from Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s office to even the likes of Chelsea supporters, who have all but disowned their clubs. While Scottish football is far removed from the top table of European football, it has also taken a stand a project that threatens the sport globally.
The SPFL have sent a ‘this is football’ message to clubs as they support teams outside those labeled ‘the dirty dozen.’ Liverpool played on Monday night against Leeds United while Chelsea host Brighton this evening, Scottish fans hoping no clubs in the SPFL take similarly greedy paths.
How true. Last 24 hours makes you value Scottish Football even higher. Can’t wait to get back.

I'd rather watch a Scottish lower League game than the 'elite' teams. I've seen Dundee on tele more times this season than Madrid or Barca!!
