Giovanni de Stefano has appeared to drop a huge hint he could be getting involved with Dundee again.
The controversial figure was previosuly a director at Dens Park in 2003 and helped attract huge names like Fabrizio Ravanelli and Claudio Caniggia. But the SFA then refused to ratify his appointment to the board becuase of previous fraud convictions, failing the ‘fit and proper persons’ test.
The big-spending at the time led the Dee into administration and being close to going bust. For that reason, de Stefano is not a popular figure at the club and fans would be unlikely to welcome any return.

De Stefano Dundee claim
But the lawyer claims he has been in touch with Dundee owner Tim Keyes and told fans to expect more news shortly.
In a video update on social media, he said: “This is Giovanni de Stefano and it is now the 9th October 20124. Just a very quick update on Dundee FC, I have been in contact with Tim Keyes and there will be other developments on this matter, hopefully sooner rather than later.”
Controversial former Dundee owner Giovanni de Stefano
De Stefano was famously pals with former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and in his role as a lawyer he represented the likes of Osama Bin Laden, Slobodan Milosevic and Robert Mugabe, leading to him being known as The Devil’s Advocate.
He has no actual legal qualifications and is barred from working in law in the UK.
He has four convictions for fraud, leading him to fail the SFA’s fit and proper persons test.
