Hearts manager Robbie Neilson will miss his side’s next three games after picking up a ban for his red card at Ibrox last weekend – with two games added on as the result of a suspended ban from last season.

Neilson was dismissed in the 1-1 draw with Rangers after a clash at the side of the pitch with Ibrox midfielder Juninho Bacuna which saw the Jambos boss pick up two yellow cards in quick succession.

The Hearts boss was booked after pleading with referee Don Robertson to dismiss the Rangers star before being shown a second just seconds later after sarcastically applauding when the ref booked both Bacuna and Stephen Kingsley.

Neilson will now miss games against Dundee, St Johnstone and Aberdeen with his coaching staff taking charge as the Jambos look to continue their unbeaten run and maintain their fantastic start to the campaign.

“I am more disappointed at the fourth official because the boy (Bacuna) has grabbed Stephen Kingsley by the throat right in front of him,” Neilson said after the game. “That is a red card.

“So I complained about that and complained again and got a second one. But when you come to these places you are not going to get the decisions.”
