Hearts have confirmed a remarkable 10,500 fans have renewed their season tickets before they go on public sale.

The renewal period ended of Friday and Jambos fans have shown their backing to Craig Levein’s side, according to the Hearts website.

Levein’s side suffered a disappointing end to the season, losing the Scottish Cup finals and failing to reach the Europa League.

Tickets are now available on general sale as they look to fill Tynecastle as regularly as possible and provide Craig Levein with a transfer kitty this summer.

Levein’s side will be hoping to improve on the season just finished and reassert themselves as the number one side in the capital.

With only weeks to go until the players return for pre-season, the Jambos will be keen to have new faces in place when they first report to Oriam.

The Jambos are expected to see Steven Naismith sign a permanent contract when his Norwich deal comes to a end this summer, and sizeable season ticket sales will go a long way to helping with that.

It will be interesting to see if there is any growth in the overall total sales beyond the renewal numbers already committed.
