Hearts will be in a position to unveil Daniel Stendel as Jambos boss next weekend according to Austin MacPhee.
The Jambos are still without a boss after the sacking of Craig Levein in October. They currently sit ninth in the Premiership after 15 league games have presented just two wins.
MacPhee says he expects to be in the dugout for the weekend’s trip to Motherwell, but after that, it should be Stendel.
When asked about Stendel, he told the Edinburgh Evening News: “I’m led to believe that this will be concluded around the start of next week.
“So, at this point, the status quo will remain until the Motherwell game. But these things can change at any time. That’s the info I have.”
Hearts need guidance
It’s clear to see that Hearts are struggling even more so without a figurehead at the helm. In their last three matches, they have suffered damaging 3-0 and 5-0 defeats and most recently drew with Livingston 1-1 at Tynecastle.
The Jambos haven’t been good enough over the last year, with four wins in Gorgie in 13 months highlighting just some of their problems. Stendel will have a lot of work ahead of him when he is finally announced.
In the meantime Hearts will gear up for a trip to a Motherwell side enjoying a fantastic season. Hearts can take confidence from the fact their best performance of the season came in a 2-1 victory over the Well at Fir Park earlier in the season.
Still though, everyone associated with the club will want this debacle over and done with.
