Hearts have joined League One pair Gillingham and Bristol Rovers in the chase for former Colchester United striker Mikael Mandron, according to a report.
According to HITC Sport, the Frenchman is a potential target for Craig Levein’s side as he looks to bolster his squad ahead of the new campaign.

Mandron scored 12 goals in 95 appearances for Colchester United after moving to Essex from Wigan in 2017.
The Jambos are in the market for a big striker, likely to partner Steven Naismith, and the 29-year-old fits the bill for the Tynecastle side.

Mandron originally moved to Britain in 2011 to join Sunderland but failed to make an impact on Wearside in five years at the Stadium of Light.
After being released in 2016, Mandron joined National League side Eastleigh but was quickly on his way back up the leagues when Championship Wigan snapped up after only a matter of months.
The striker’s contract ended this summer so is a free agent and the chance to play top-flight football with Hearts could well appeal.

Levein’s side will be hoping to improve on the disappointing end to last season after losing the Scottish Cup final and being overtaken by capital rivals Hibs in the league.
The Jambos return to competitive action on July 12th when they host Dundee United in the League Cup so Levein will want to get new faces in quickly.
