But now it has finally been called to a halt.
Closed doors idea binned
Burns has been playing his last few games for Newcastle Jets behind closed doors. It’s now been deemed unsafe by the A-League to have teams competing at all.
It puts the Hearts man and the many A-League players in the same boat as most of world football. Uncertainty resides over how to end the respective leagues globally.

Australia’s position could be a bit more tricky to negotiate with the league winners decided by play-offs. Currently, Burns’ Jets side sit three points outside the Championship play-off spots.
What happens next with the Hearts utility man’s season is unknown as football faces an anxious wait for action.
