Hearts boss Craig Levein has said he can fix the Jambos’ current run of form, but is that enough at this point?

The Tynecastle support watched as they turned in another poor performance, this time drawing with Hamilton 2-2. This was a very winnable game and Hearts have thrown three points away by drawing this clash.

Levein has said he is the man to turn this around, but actions need to speak louder than words now.

He told the Edinburgh Evening News: “I understand that. There is a sense of frustration with the supporters and I get that. I’m not going to criticise them for voicing their opinion, but I believe I can fix this and get us up the table pretty quickly”.

Hearts and Levein need urgent positive boost

There is a dark cloud hanging over Gorgie right now. With Hearts joint-bottom of the league, plenty of fans have already turned on Levein.

He loves the club and has served the Jambos well as a player, a manager and a Director of Football. Levein backs himself to change his beloved side’s fortunes, but he needs to prove that is the case.

Against Hamilton they were lucky to get one point. Marios Ogkmpoe struck the crossbar for Accies when the game was tied at 2-2 late on.

Even against Ross County in their last home game they were lucky to salvage a point. A late Staggies penalty miss ensured that the Jambos escaped with a 0-0 draw.

Hearts have won just 2 of their last 18 league games. In their last 24, they have lost 14 times. It’s relegation form, so it can be of little surprise some fans want change.

A run of consecutive victories may be the only way Levein gets fans back on side. He believes he is the man to turn the sinking ship that is Hearts’ season around, but he has to go and prove that.
