Hearts defender Stephen Kingsley looks set to become the latest to commit his future to the Jambos – following the likes of Craig Gordon and Craig Halkett in signing an extension with Robbie Neilson’s side.

Kingsley is out of contract in the summer but is, according to the Daily Record, “on the verge of” signing a new long-term deal at Tynecastle.

The former Falkirk, Swansea City and Hull City defender has been a massive part of Hearts’ success this season and has formed an integral part of the Jambos defence alongside Halkett and Gordon.

Kinglsey has scored four times and helped the Jambos to ten shut-outs in his 22 appearances so far this season.

Defensive partner Halkett signed a two-year deal earlier this week to commit his future to Hearts until 2024 and the former Livingston captain confessed he was delighted to finally get a deal done and put pen to paper, saying: “It is great to get it sorted because it has been a wee while. I am just delighted.

“It was always something I had at the back of my mind that I wanted to stay here.

“It takes time to sort these things out but now that we have I am really happy and looking forward to progressing my career at Hearts.

“Things are looking really positive, the manager, coaches and everyone in the background is pushing in the one direction.”
