Gary Mackay-Steven says these are ‘exciting times’ for Hearts after the former Celtic winger scored twice in their 3-0 title day win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The 30-year-old arrived at Hearts in January following a spell in the MLS with New York City. Having won the Scottish Premiership three times with Celtic and featured in the Parkhead club’s invincible side of 2016/17, he will make his return to the top-flight of Scottish football next season after the Tynecastle club lifted the Championship title on Saturday.

Hearts were controversially relegated in the 2019/20 season but have won the second-tier title at the first time of asking. Mackay-Steven says fans will be a massive boost at Tynecastle next season.
He said: “It’s horrible playing with no fans. They give you an extra boost and I know here at Tynecastle it’s hard to beat. We’re desperate for that. That would be a massive boost. You play to get them off their seats and I am desperate for that to happen.
“We want to play football the right way. We have a lot of players who can get the ball down and play attractive football. Going forward with the fans here that will add another dimension that will help the team. Going forward, there are exciting times at this club.”
