Hearts have been hit with a massive injury blow after Ben Garuccio suffered a horror knee injury in training and now looks set to miss up to ten months of action.
The Australian international has torn ligaments in his leg after twisting his knee into the turf and the 23-year-old is unlikely to play again this year – with the Jambos confirming the news on Twitter.

“We got a bit of bad news on Wednesday. Ben Garuccio has torn his cruciate in training. So he will be out for 10 months or so,” Levein said, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“His foot got caught in the turf and twisted, just a complete accident.”

Garuccio has made 23 appearances for the Tynecastle side since arriving from Adelaide United and has been an important part of Levein’s side.
The blow comes at the worst possible time for Hearts with three massive league games followed by a Scottish Cup semi-final in the coming weeks.

Hearts haven’t had their troubles to seek with injuries this season as Steven Naismith, John Souttar, Christophe Berra, Michael Smith and Demi Mitchell all suffering serious injuries at some stage.
Losing Garuccio could force Levein into the transfer market in the summer to source a replacement left-back as cover for the Australian.
