Hearts will once again wear t-shirts made by Bands FC and Tiny Changes when they take on Celtic at Hampden this weekend.
The Jambos are looking to dethrone Celtic’s Scottish Cup dominance, the Parkhead side winning the last three tournaments. Now a repeat of the 2019 final occurs in the 2020 showpiece between the Tynecastle outfit and Celtic.
Robbie Neilson’s side made it to this round after a victory over Hibs in the last four. In that game, they wore t-shirts released by Bands FC and Tiny Changes in the warm-up.
Tiny Changes was formed in 2019 after the death of Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchinson, a Hearts supporter, who sadly took his own life in 2018. Neilson went to the SFA for permission to wear the shirts in October.
Now they will be worn in the game against Celtic to help publicise Tiny Changes, which is a mental health charity. These Hearts shirts were initially released in July 2020 and raised £35,000 for the important cause.
Then they appeared in the Scottish Cup semi-final and three of these shirts have been signed and will be auctioned off prior to kick-off on Sunday. Fans can buy a raffle ticket here, the raffle closing at 12PM on Wednesday, 16 December.
Tynecastle boss Neilson said: “We wore those shirts in the semi-final and that turned out to be a good day, so hopefully wearing them again in the final will be a good omen for us,” said Neilson.
“The three strips from the semi-final are on auction so we’re hoping to raise as much money as we can for the Tiny Changes charity. We have a new batch which the boys will wear in the final and then they will all get signed and auctioned as well.”
