Hearts reportedly want Matty Kennedy from St Johnstone– and they are willing to part with captain Christophe Berra to land him (Scottish Sun).
The Jambos veteran has been deemed surplus to requirements at Tynecastle. He joins the likes of Craig Wighton and Jake Mulraney, who have been cast out of Daniel Stendel’s plans.

Aidan Keena and Glenn Whelan have already left as part of his cull. As the German aims to revitalise his squad, one player he wants in the door reportedly is St Johnstone’s Kennedy.
Kennedy could join Hearts for nothing
The Northern Irishman is out of contract in the summer. Aberdeen are another team interested in the winger but the Jambos are hoping to persuade him that Tynecastle is the right option.
Wright is in the market for an experienced defender and there’s not going to be many more as experienced as Hearts’ skipper. Kennedy has been a big player though for Wright, playing 18 times, scoring three times and notching four assists in the Premiership this term.

It looks likely he’ll lose him though as big names circle. At the moment, Hearts need to drag themselves away from the bottom to entice Kennedy with guaranteed Premiership football.
Stendel’s side will return to action this weekend when they face Airdrieonians in the Scottish Cup.
