Hibernian defender David Gray has had his say on the recent exit of club chief executive Leeann Dempster.
Dempster left the Easter Road club this week after six exciting years, which saw the club get relegated, win promotion back to the top flight and most importantly end a wait of over 100 years to win the Scottish Cup.
Gray was signed by Hibernian in July 2014, therefore he has been at the club for the entirety of Dempster’s time at the club. He paid tribute to the job she has done at Easter Road.
“An unbelievable job”
“She’s done an unbelievable job, and will be very difficult to replace. She’s done an excellent job over the years” Gray said.

“From when I first came in, I think I was one of her first signings, the job she inherited to what she’s done now, I think she deserves immense credit, fully deserves all the credit she can get for that.”
As the chief executive, Dempster would have been involved in Hibernian’s signings. Gray was one of the first of those, and he has been one of the best.
Scored most important goal of Dempster era
The club captain has been a Hibernian mainstay for years, and will go down in club legend forever for scoring the winning goal against Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final in 2016.

Dempster’s legacy will always be that cup final victory.
However, getting Hibernian back into the Premier League was almost as important. Hibernian are now established in the Premiership, and Dempster deserves credit for that.
Gray’s comments will likely be echoed by the Hibernian support overall.
