Hibernian assistant manager John Potter admits that it will be difficult this season to catch second placed Celtic. The Easter Road side have fared fairly well against the defending Premiership champions this season, holding them to two draws and suffering one defeat.
With Hibernian currently clear in third place, thoughts could be turning to catching Celtic, who by their standards have been having a poor season.
However, with Hibernian currently nine points behind Celtic, Potter thinks that it will be tough to make up those points.
“Very, very, difficult”
“You always want to chase what’s in front of you, but that’ll be very, very, difficult. Rangers and Celtic have got a really good chance of being the top two in Scotland this year” he said.

“We just have to concentrate on doing what we are doing. At the moment we’re in third. We have to keep continuing to win games of football if we want to stay there. So it’s pretty straightforward to be honest. If we want to try and improve, we need to keep winning games” Potter stated.
Impressed with attacker
In other news, Potter has been impressed with the recent form of Martin Boyle. The winger has scored four goals in his last three games.

“He’s a very important player for us. He’s a threat, and I think other teams know he’s a threat, he’s a good finisher if we get him in good positions, he’s scored a few goals recently, and hopefully he can continue doing that” Potter said.
Weather permitting, Boyle will get a chance to add to his goal tally when Hibernian take on Ross County tomorrow.
