Hibs have confirmed Jack Ross’ sacking as manager and announced David Gray will take interim charge at Easter Road for the “foreseeable future” with a clash against St Mirren on Saturday and the League Cup final next weekend.
The axe fell on Ross after the 1-0 defeat by Livingston continued their dismal run of league form that saw them win one of the last nine games and slip to seventh in the Premiership table.

Hibs chief executive Ben Kensell announced the “tough decision” to part company with Ross, just over two years after the ex-Sunderland boss took the reins at Easter Road.
“Following the prolonged run of poor results in the league, the Club has taken the tough decision to relieve Jack Ross of his duties,” Kensell confirmed.
“We thank Jack & John for all their hard work and dedication to the role, the club has moved forward under their leadership, and we will fondly remember some incredible highs like reaching two cup finals and finishing third in the league last season.
“We wish them all the best in their future endeavours. The Club will now look to appoint a new manager to take the club and this talented young squad forward and a further update will be provided in due course.”
Ross’ assistant John Potter has also left the Hibees and it will be interesting to see who is next in the Easter Road hotseat following Ross’ dismissal.
Former Hamilton and Preston boss Alex Neil appears to be the favourite amongst fans but it remains to be seen if the club want to go in the same direction.
