Hibs have consulted their players over whether they feel comfortable or not participating in this evening’s match against Celtic.
A huge debacle at Celtic Park has engulfed Scottish football headlines across the last few days. After last weekend’s defeat to Rangers, Celtic decided to controversially fly out to Dubai for a warm weather training camp.

It was hit with plenty of criticism but that intensified tenfold when Christopher Jullien tested positive for Covid-19. Now 15 players and staff are having to isolate ahead of the visit of Hibs.
This fixture was moved to Monday night by the SPFL to accommodate Celtic’s trip to Dubai, a decision that left then-Hibs chief executive Leeann Dempster ‘fizzing.’ The Hibees have spoken to their players about the match.
It is thought that Hibs have consulted with the playing staff about participating in this clash, with some having reservations about it, given the situation at Parkhead. No players have chosen not to play as of yet but some could be forced to put health and safety before football.
Hibs are also said to have requested that Celtic re-test for Covid-19 before this evening’s match – but this has been refused by Celtic and the SPFL on grounds that it’s not required under the current virus protocols.
