It appears David Gray’s remarkable Hibs revival is not going unnoticed down south.
The Easter Road boss has led an incredible turnaround in the club’s on-field fortunes and after beating Hearts in the Edinburgh derby, Hibs now sit 3rd in the Premiership.

Hibs haven’t been beaten since early December when Celtic won 3-0 at Parkhead and Gray’s exploits are said to be attracting attention from EFL Championship side Swansea City.
The Swans are currently without a permanent manager in charge after Luke Williams was sacked in February. Alan Sheehan is in caretaker charge while the club undergo their recruitment process.

According to journalist Alan Nixon via his Patreon account, Gray has ‘caught the eye’ of the Swansea City hierarchy and is said to ‘tick many boxes’.
Nixon wrote: “Hibs boss David Gray has become a contender for the Swansea City job after his fantastic work in the SPFL.
“Gray, 36, has taken the Edinburgh side to third in the table after a slow start and is catching the eye of the managerless Welsh club.
“The former Hibs skipper has experience in football outside Scotland as a one time hopeful at Manchester United and a move to the EFL may appeal to him.
“Gray stepped into the role and has come good. Swans are taking their time to find a new manager but he ticks many of their boxes.”

Hibs supporters on David Gray to Swansea City link
Hibs fans have taken to social media platform X and it’s no surprise there is a wave of opposition against Gray leaving Edinburgh for Wales.
One user demanded: “You leave Sir David Gray where he is thank you very much”.
Another said: “They should look at Lee Johnson”.
This Hibee posted: “He’s not going anywhere. He wants to win things with Hibs.”
While this fan said: “I’ve only just found my love for him again, so no. We are keeping him. For the moment.”
The Swansea City fan view of David Gray
Swansea City writer and supporter Will Hughes has been providing his take on the David Gray link to Football League World.
And he is reserving judgement of Gray because he hasn’t watched too much of Hibs. He noted that Gray prefers to play with three centre-backs, but noted the current squad may not be suited to play that style.
Hughes said: “I don’t know too much about David Gray, apart from the fact he is the Hibs manager.
“In terms of Gray, I have only looked at stats for his Hibs side and how he sets up. I couldn’t say whether he would be a good appointment because I haven’t watched much of Hibs, and I would rather watch a team and see how they play rather than go off stats.

“He likes to play a back three, with wing-backs and two strikers. We have played a back three in the past under the likes of Steve Cooper, and it worked well under Russell Martin at times. But I look at the likes of Michael Duff and Luke Williams, and the back three for them didn’t work very well.
“If he was to come in, you would think they would bring in players to suit his style. But whoever comes in has to do that – a squad overhaul is required. Regardless of who comes in, there are a lot of players who aren’t good enough.
“If we want to get away from trouble next year, we need to spend a lot of money.”
