Hibs have given a supporter a fantastic response after he suggested the Hibees sign Vincent Kompany – by insisting Ryan Porteous will be “ready to go” by the start of pre-season.
The Manchester City icon announced earlier today that he was leaving the Premier League champions before it was announced shortly afterwards that he’d be taking the reins at Anderlecht as player/manager.
In the brief gap between the two announcements, fans were scrambling to tell their club to sign the Belgian – but Hibs don’t seem to think they need to now-former City captain.

The club’s official Twitter account thanked fan Dave Graham for the suggestion saying: “Thanks for the suggestion, Dave. As much as we admire Vincent, Ryan Porteous should be ready to go for the start of pre-season.”

Biggest STAR Your Club Are Trying To SIGN This Month
Porteous has made 23 appearances this season but saw his season ended in January by injury.
Hibs fans rate the defender really highly and will be hoping he can recover from injury and continue to impress when he returns to action.

After being stuck on the sidelines since before Paul Heckingbottom took charge at Easter Road, the defender will be a great addition to a side that performed fantastically well under the new boss.
Missing out on Kompany probably doesn’t seem as much of a blow for Hibs fans now with the news Porteous will be back in time for pre-season.
