Ofir Marciano says he would like to test himself in the Premier League as he opens up on his Hibs future.

The goalkeeper is out of contract at the end of the season and Celtic have been linked with his services. Marciano has spent five years with Hibs, playing with them through the Championship and into the top-flight.

An Israeli international, he is close friends with Celtic midfielder Nir Biton while a return to his homeland with Hapoel Be’er Sheva has also been suggested. Hibs are pushing for third in the Scottish Premiership and Marciano wants to focus on that.

But the Hibees goalkeeper also has ambition to play in the Premier League one day: “The most important thing is to finish as high as we can for the club. After that we have time to think about these things but the most important thing for me is to play good in every game and stay focused for the rest of the season.

“I’m not trying to hide it, I’m happy here but I’m trying not to think about my contract. I’m thinking about trying to improve my game. For me, the most important thing is to play good for the club. Without that I won’t get any opportunity, not here or at another place.

“I know my value. It’s a big statement, but I think I can play in the Premier League. My abilities are known in Britain; I’ve had five very good years in Scotland.”
