Hibs have had a bid of £150,000+player offer accepted for St Mirren midfielder Jamie McGrath, according to the Daily Record.

The Irishman is out of contract and had previously been close to a move to Easter Road and will now join the Hibees with Alex Gogic heading in the opposite direction.

McGrath missed a couple of games for the Buddies earlier this month after telling manager Jim Goodwin that the speculation over his future was affecting him before making his return to action.

During the summer, the sides had agreed a deal worth £350,000 plus Scott Allan and Drey Wright for the Ireland international before it fell through at the eleventh hour.

Aberdeen, Birmingham City and Wigan had all been linked with moves for the midfielder, but Aberdeen backed off recently.

However, it now looks as though Hibs have finally got their man as the transfer window enters the final 24 hours.

St Mirren have been preparing to lose McGrath for a while after he turned down the biggest contract offer in the Buddies’ history in favour of moving on.

While Jim Goodwin will have preferred to keep McGrath until the summer, £150k and Gogic is a decent enough return for McGrath.
