Hibs have been trying to move fringe men on since Lee Johnson was in charge.

Often when you have a bloated squad it can prove difficult to shift some, especially if they are on decent wages.

It can be particularly hard to to do permanent deals and so the Hibees have ended up with 14 players out on loan.

That does also include youngsters who may still have a future, so fans of the Easter Road club will be keen to know how they’re faring.

Here, Not the Old Firm has a look.

Kanayo Megwa (Partick Thistle)

The young right-back is highly rated and has had some first-team exposure at Easter Road, seen as a potential future starter.

After a loan at Airdrie last season, he headed back to the Championship with Partick Thistle, playing in every minute for the Jags since signing in September.

Of the eight games he has played in, he has only lost one.

Dylan Vente (PEC Zwolle)

Vente has had a frustrating time at Hibs but his return to his homeland has lifted the gloom somewhat.

The striker has four goals in 12 games for a PEC Zwolle side sitting 14th in the Eredivisie. That’s one short of his Premiership total for the entirety of last season.

Jair Tavares (Motherwell)

The winger, who at one stage looked like having an Easter Road redemption, has been reduced to a subs’ brief since signing for Motherwell on loan, coming off the bench four times.

Allan Delferrière (Racing Union Lëtzebuerg)

Delferrière has been consistent for a Racing side challenging up the top of a the Luzembourg top flight, playing eight times.

Murray Johnson & Murray Aiken (Airdrieonians)

The young Hibs pair both returned to Airdrie where they’ve had loan spells before.

With the team struggling at the foot of the Championship, Aiken has one goal in 17 appearances while goalkeeper Johnson has played 13 times.

Oscar MacIntyre (Queen of the South)

The left-sided player has missed just 45 minutes of QOTS action since signing and has played both at full-back and in midfield for a team aiming for promotion from League One.

Jacob MacIntyre (Kelty Hearts)

Younger brother Jacob is at Kelty Hearts and in a challenge with his sibling for promotion. Played four times since signing in September.

Malik Zaid (Annan)

Midfielder scored on his debut and has continued to feature regularly in League One after a spell at Edinburgh City last season.

Reuben McAllister (Cove Rangers)

Found game time hard to come by, featuring just six times for Cove, all off the bench.

Rory Whittaker (Spartans)

Hibs opted to draft the young right-back in for some development team games as he wasn’t getting the desired game time at Spartans. Has played 10 times for the Edinburgh side, many from the bench. WIll be full recalled in January.

Freddie Owens (Civil Service Strollers)

The 19-year-old keeper is loan in the Lowland League with the Edinburgh-based club and has impressed on his 16 outings so far.

Kyle McClelland (Coleraine)

The Glasgow-born Northern Ireland youth international is with Coleraine and has made 15 appearances under Former Hibee Dean Shiels.

Josh O’Connor (Dundalk FC)

Garry O’Connor’s son has appeared just once for the Irish side and hasn’t been making the bench.
