Brian Rice says Hamilton Accies couldn’t deal with a rampant Hibs side in South Lanarkshire as the Hibees won 4-0.
Goals courtesy of a Martin Boyle penalty, Christian Doidge header, Paul McGinn strike and Kevin Nisbet tap-in sealed an impressive win for Jack Ross’ men, Accies slipping into 11th after this defeat.

Rice says that while Hibs were better on the day, his side will play worse with better results: “It was a crazy penalty to give away and then I thought we had a good foothold in the game, but then they got the second goal – which was poor defending, I thought.
“The second half we started really well, we caused them a couple of problems, got balls in, but the difference is when they do that they are putting them into the net, and we are not.
“Their third was a really good finish, and then it is just a case of trying to get out of it. We were playing a really good team today. I think they are the third-best team in Scotland at the minute and, like I say, at 1-0 we had a good foothold in the game.

“There weren’t too many chances at that point. I said to the boys in the dressing room that we will play worse than that and win games. I am really disappointed with the result, but I am not too disappointed with the performance.”
Rice says missing six starters through injury was a blow: ” “Nobody can argue with that, for a club our size, six first-team starters is massive. Absolutely massive.
“But the boys in there are giving it their all and that is all we can ask for. They have been giving it their all for the last few weeks.”
