Hibs striker Marc McNulty delivered a glowing report of Jamie Gullan after the youngster scored his first goal in senior football against Inverness in the Scottish Cup quarter finals.
Jack Ross’ free-scoring side cruised into the last four with a 5-2 win at Easter Road and had five different scorers in Adam Jackson, Scott Allan, Greg Docherty, Stephane Omeonga and finally Gullan, who had replaced McNulty on 80 minutes.

The 20-year-old took his goal really well following some great play down the left by Christian Doidge, converting the Welshman’s cross first-time into the far corner across goalkeeper Mark Ridgers.
That was after Inverness had pulled one goal back through a deflected Carl Tremarco effort. Nikolay Todorov then scored a consolation for the Championship side in the dying embers.
Speaking after the game, McNulty couldn’t hide his pride for starlet Gullan.

He said: “Special mention to Gullan, [I’m] buzzing for him. I can remember when I was young scoring my first goal – it’s a brilliant feeling. He deserves it. He’s been training well and scoring for the reserve team when he’s played. He’s been great in training. He’s a good kid, he listens and he wants to learn.
“I’m sure he’ll have a good career in the game, so well done to him.
“It was a brilliant finish. Everyone’s buzzing for him. I think you can see with everyone’s reaction as well. Like I said, it’s always special to get your first goal when you’re a young player coming on and I’m sure he’ll go from strength to strength.”
