David Hopkin says he was content with a point against Dundee after Morton were reduced to ten men against the Dee during the 1-1 draw.

Kane Hemmings put the away side in front at Cappielow before Jim McAllister equalised for Hopkin. In the second half, Kyle Jacobs was dismissed for a second booking.

Morton held on though and gained a point. It leaves them in in seventh, three points behind sixth-placed Dundee.

“I thought last week we were fantastic against Dundee United, if we held on a couple more minutes we could have had an extra two points,” said Hopkin.

“Today I thought the second half changed things. But I thought my players were magnificent. I’m delighted we have played two of the biggest teams in the league and competed with both of them.

“The red card was harsh but it’s fantastic from the players. Fitness levels, organisation and the desire to see out the game, it’s a great credit to play the last 30 minutes with ten men.

“They all know they’ve got a role to play. We work them hard and now they are carrying it out with a bit of belief. We’ve got a great dressing room but we need to keep working hard.

“I was delighted with the transfer market but we are always looking. It’s a diffuclt window.”
